Have Some Word Fun!
What is special in the passage below?
Washington Crossing the Delaware
A hard, howling, tossing water scene.
Strong tide was washing hero clean.
"How cold!" Weather stings as in anger.
O Silent night shows war ace danger!
The cold waters swashing on in rage.
Redcoats warn slow his hint engage.
When star general's action wish'd "Go!"
He saw his ragged continentals row.
Ah, he stands - sailor crew went going.
And so this general watches rowing.
He hastens - winter again grows cold.
A wet crew gain Hessian stronghold.
George can't lose war with's hands in;
He's astern - so go alight, crew, and win!

Re: Have Some Word Fun!
The poem is noted for being an anagrammatic poem - in this case, a 14-line rhyming sonnet in which every line is an anagram of the title.

Every line is an anagram of the first line. This one is on purpose!

LOL I was thinking, "what's the title?" :geek:
I get it now though. Good one for sure!

Yes. I'd just read the thread on the O speech backwards and was "slightly" riled. I'm still shaking my head at the rediculousness of it.
Prov 26:21 | Alas, son: words too unkind, or mean acts, can soon ignite atrocious battlefields of ire. |

Ah! You found it, fun huhh? I try not to be so hard on people, folks are searching, looking for meaning. Some things are random, some purposeful and some just synchronistic. Demonstration and experience go further than trying to directly confront at times. We each are responsible for finding the pearls in our own lives.

Re: Have Some Word Fun!
When have I ever been hard on people? I'm usually very understanding as I know that it's not really their fault - the amnesia.
Comes a point though that the O bashing gets to me. No one really understands or knows who he really is. They seem to think that he is actually in charge and committing the discord he is really just a scape-goat for.
Where are you Jewelz? LOL

Spinning wheels go round and round, meeting each other time and time again, but never go up or down. So, I would have to say, that would be the wrong answer. AJ

Darn, wrong again... I even tried cheating and looking for the answer on line. Let me have another cup of coffee and ponder some more on this riddle

It also occurs to me that "up" is a matter of perspective from a cosmological perspective. For instance, upward is outward since the earth is round, so it infers 'away from gravity.' In space, "upward" looses its meaning. It also infers increase.

In this case it inferred increase. Great perspective though. AJ

See you all later. Be good! Food for thought:
Quote by Vonnegut:
Just because some of us can read and write
and do a little math, that doesn't mean we
deserve to conquer the universe.
- or -
A masquerade can cover a sense of what is
real to deceive us; to be unjaded and not
lost, we must, then, determine truth.

Me too, professor, but the MOB thinks we live in a democracy, which is a preversion of the Constitutional Republic [their own words]. "WE THE PEOPLE" need to make some changes around here.

I guess that all depends upon which school? The public fool system or the school of free will. I had a judge once tell me, "I could have picked up the books, just like Mr. Anderson, I would have saved $40,000.00 on my legal education'. In my opinion, free will thinking combined with action will over take the evil in everything. My point, the truth is out there, you just need to find it! AJ

Dangit! Well, at least I know Batman has not steered me wrong - too funny that I was just watching an episode while reading some of the posts and this very question was answered. Otherwise, I would have answered my mother's blood pressure, b/c the lady is always worried about something and can't figure out how to get her pressure under control. Go figure.
