No More Dinars

Our Bank 1st Convenience Bank in Texas stopped selling Dinars today. This Bank has been a major supplier of the currency. When I asked they just said the supply suddenly dried up.

SAW THIS ON PTR SITE, FOUR MAJOR BANKS HERE IN TEXAS WERE ORDERED TO STOP SELLING DINARS!!!!! TONY AND JONNY AND IT IS CONFIRMED. groupdance

Well to me there is a difference between

The banks were ordered to stop selling

and

The banks cant get any because it all dried up

THAT is what I would like to see confirmed. . .

My Banker just told me their source had run out of Dinar. Now I don't know how far this young lady is down the info chain in the bank but that's what she said. Her info may be reflecting corporate policy at this point rather than facts.

5:30 EST~~ TONY UPDATE - First Convenience Bank and First National in Texas along with Chase and Wells Fargo have received ORDERS to stop selling dinar within the last hour. Although some banks quit selling ON THEIR OWN a while back, NOW they are being DIRECTED to stop...there is a SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE!

True godsfool, but what I heard earlier, is the banks get their IQD from the UST. . .

Maybe they should get them from dealers as well

Question: Is there any chance that these banks are not BASEL III compliant and are no longer eligible to deal with the IQD?

Just wonderin' out loud. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Last Friday I ordered additional Dinars by wire from Dinar Bankers. I called today to verify the wire had been received; was told that Dinar Banker is no longer accepting wires for dinar, and my order would be refunded.

I ordered from DinarBanker last evening, and the order was accepted, myaccountant. It'll be interesting to see whether my order goes through or whether you get your money refunded. I'd be happy either way, but right now if your scenario would mean the RV/RI is truly happening now ... well, I guess we'd ALL be pretty happy about that. Cautiously optomistic.......... :study:

P.S. The DinarBanker.com website indicates they are still selling dinar as of 4:25 p.m. PDT.

I placed an order with Dinar Banker today at 3:50 Central. Echeck. I just called to confirm it is locked at the rate I ordered it.

Just called the bank near me in Graham, Tx. to see if they are still selling and was told yes and I said , you better check for sure because all the other banks in Texas had been ordered to stop selling. She put me on hold and came back after 6 or 7 minutes and said they have gotten a interbanking memo earlier in the day that ordered them to stop selling also. She said they have been so busy no one noticed. This was First Convenience Bank at Walmart!!!! Go RV!!! I know all of them and they all have dinars. lol!

Well you should come to West Texas. Just got off the phone with my 1st. Convenience bank, and they are still selling IQD as of 6:32 pm. Some branches maybe out but mine is not.

They did not tell me they are out , in fact she said they had plenty but they got a memo from corporate earlier today that told them to stop selling today.

That's cool, I want it to happen tonight as well. My branch is still selling as long as I can get thier by 7 pm. And we have been known to be a little late to the party out here. Takes longer for the ip packects to get here, and to get through the dust.

ECOE - Your right they do not physcally stock the dIQD, how ever they are required to honor the order they place and accept. At my branch, they pull itup from thier supplier and the order is accepted electronically, and confirmed from thier supplier at that moment. We had an order last week that came in and you could tell that it was cirrculated Dinars, in the past they all looked like uncirculated. Very clean and crisp. I find it interesting that a Corparate memo was sent out and ordered to stop selling Dinar, that was the primary reason for the call to verify if in fact it was a supply issue or a Corprate memo issue. Sounds like it maybe more of a supply issue at this time.

This is not the case. None of the First Convenience Bank branches physically stock the currencies.

They are all ordered through their supply-house, through which I have spoken with "Ashley" twice in the past.

The last time I spoke with her she informed me (recommended, actually) that we no longer buy dinar from them because it was getting more difficult to obtain it - The reason I asked to speak with her again that second time was because at that time the Bank had informed us that they could no longer guarantee the IQD orders to be filled.

Like I said, My branch as of 632 pm was still selling. May be a supply issue or could be what we are waiting for. I just don't jump to high anymore, especally when a 4 min drive proved to me that they are still selling. So I think since it's past 7 pm I will wait and if no RV in the morning I wil go by another 25k note to see what happens.

We have been ordeing VND for sometime now from Wells, for us and several friends who don't have account with them.

We have no problems in getting the VND 2-3 days it is here. But we ordered some last Wednesday the 26th. It still has not come in, we ae beginning to wonder.

With all the good news coming out of Irag with things getting done, this is all great news.

I know for a fact that BOA buys directly from the CBI. My source is my BOA banker. He may be lying but there would be no reason for him to as he readily admits when he doesn't know whats going on with the IQD.

I feel that either or (ORDERED to stop or lack of flow) is great news. Just two different means to achieve the same end. The same end for us (law abiding and honest) Americans at least.

IMO..the remaining banks selling dinar and dong as investments were simply ordered by the UST to STOP selling due only to the Dodd-Frank Act. IMO..this action has no significance to the RV and will be applied to currency dealers as well post RV.

The Dodd-Frank Act requires those buying currency to be verified to be a..."qualified" investor before currency can be sold to you for purposes other then limited amounts for travel.

It appears the dealers are not being pursued by the feds to stop sale to unqualified investors yet, however IMO...post RV it will be much harder to buy large amounts of any foreign currency unless you are willing to prove you are financially qualified...!

If you want to learn more, Google the phrase "Dodd-Frank Act" and a lot of information will display.

some banks will still sell you dinar or dong if you show proof of travel and are buying only small amounts. Also, IMO....all banks that handle foreign currency will resume selling post RV for travel and to qualified investors.

Why are banks being skittish about selling dinar & dong right now...?

IMO....

1) the banks are tired of all the calls
2) the banks do not want to qualify investors at this time
3) the banks are confused, concerned about and/or want to take advantage of the RV
4) the dinar (and dong for that matter) are really exotic currencies

seriously...who the heck knows, however it makes NO logical sense that if the stop order was RV related it would include banks and not dealers/traders as well.

Good Morning Everyone,

I have read the post that the 4 big Banks have stopped selling the IQD and the VND. I bank at WF and they have never sold the IQD this year but they do sell the VND I call and order some more today and they don't ask if you are taking a trip or anything. The price is still low! Now I don't know about the other banks because I only bank at WF and PVSB I do know that PVSB has not been selling VND for 2 months now. But just wanted to let people know that WF is still selling VND, and you do not have to be going on a trip to buy it.

So, somebody draw some accurate conclusions from this. We can ALL speculate that this means something, but in reality, WHAT?
Who really knows what this means?
Why is this such GOOD NEWS? I can speculate with the best of 'em till the cows come home.

Does this mean the RV is imminent because the UST or CBI is not providing currency to the banks?

Does this mean the RV is imminent because the value is about to change and they want to make their fees on the exchange at the new rate?

Does this mean they just don't want anybody else to make any money?

What does it really mean? Can anyone who is a manager in the banking industry give us a REAL assessment?

All the responses to this otherwise is all speculation from people like me who don't really know....sorry, but true.

However, I hope the positive speculation is RIGHT. We just need to keep things in perspective.
