The Cabinet decides to support the Reconstruction Fund for Liberated Areas

Today, Monday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced support for the Reconstruction Fund for Liberated Areas, and authorizing the Minister of Finance to sign a grant agreement with the German Development Bank.

The Media Office of the Cabinet Secretariat stated in a statement received by (Iraqi Media News Agency /) that “The Cabinet has decided to authorize the Minister of Finance to sign a grant agreement with the German Development Bank to support the Fund for Reconstruction of Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations, at an amount of three million euros. On the Fund’s activities in returning displaced persons to their homes ”.

The statement added, "The decision includes authorizing the Minister of Finance to sign a grant agreement with the German Development Bank (supplementary) to support the health system in Iraq, increasing the amount of the grant by nine million euros, so that the total amount of the grant becomes twenty-four million euros."

The statement indicated that "the decision came during the twenty-fifth regular session of the Council of Ministers, held on 10/11/2020, and based on the provisions of Article (3 / Second Clause) of the Treaty Contract Law No. (35 of 2015)."
