Dr. Eng. Abbas Kazem Obeid, Chargé d'Affaires of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the United Nations Office at Geneva at the meeting of the Arab Group in Geneva.

The meeting discussed coordination of Arab positions to participate in the forthcoming (44) session of the Human Rights Council, reviewing some issues of common Arab interest, and the importance of presenting a unified Arab position on them.

They discussed the topic of Arab participation in the next meeting of the Arab Labor Organization, to be held on 7/7/2020.

At the meeting, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine gave a brief presentation on the subject of annexation that the Israeli occupation wanted to do in the Palestinian Arab territories.

In this regard, Dr. Abbas Kazem, on the consistent position of Iraq in support of the Palestinian issue, presented a number of proposals to support dialogues on the Palestinian issue in the sessions of the Human Rights Council.
