Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Al-Halbousi received, today, Thursday, the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Stephen Hickey, to discuss bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments in the situation in Iraq and the region.
His Excellency stressed during the meeting the importance of expanding the means of cooperation and working to coordinate jointly to face the challenges of terrorism in order to consolidate regional and international peace, stressing his refusal to use the country as a platform to settle scores, or that Iraq be a party to any regional or international conflict.
For his part, the British Ambassador affirmed his country's support for the sovereignty and stability of Iraq, coordination and cooperation in all fields.
