On Saturday, Britain called on its nationals not to travel to Iran and Iraq except for the Kurdistan Region.

Britain advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Iraq except for the Kurdistan region and avoid traveling to Iran unless necessary, after the killing of Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps in Baghdad.

"In view of the escalation of tension in the region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on citizens not to travel to Iraq except for the Kurdistan region and to think carefully about whether their travel to Iran is necessary," Foreign Minister Dominic Rap said in a statement.

"We will continue to monitor the situation," he added.
