The Iraqi General Cement Company announced that it achieved a record production for the year 2019 exceeding 760 thousand tons, an increase of 101 percent compared to the year 2018 through its Kufa Cement Factory .

The Director General of the company affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, Eng. Hussein Mohsen Al-Khafaji, said in a statement carried by Al-Sabah newspaper and seen by "Al-Iqtisad News", that the owners of his factory succeeded during the year 2019 by exceeding its production of cement by 101 percent compared to 2018, and the amount of production reached 762 thousand and 76 tons From the resistant cement, explaining that these results came as a result of the large and distinguished efforts of the workforce that implemented the drawn and systematic plans for managing the company and the factory, and were able to achieve record time conditions based on increasing production and reducing costs through maintenance and rehabilitation work .

He added that the last business of the owners of the company’s Kufa plant was to operate the first oven with a gas system instead of black oil, while replacing the sprockets of the consumed oven and other lower parts, in addition to pouring the area with the (castable) material with the capabilities and self-efforts of the factory owners, which contributed to providing more than a billion JD compared to its cost if it was performed by external companies in the field of mechanical maintenance .

Al-Khafaji explained that the Kufa Cement Factory produces resistant cement and holds a quality mark certificate from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, and a certificate of international quality by the French company ( Bureau Veritas ), reminding that the factory is offering its production of cement to customers at a price of 75 thousand dinars per ton and put in the factory With a direct and easy cutting and processing mechanism for all sides in quantities
