During the meeting, MP Al-Salihi referred to the role of the High Commission for Human Rights and its efforts to follow up the violations that take place in the country, as it is an independent and impartial body standing by every Iraqi individual exposed to abuse, kidnapping, or any act that violates human rights principles.
The head of the Parliamentary Committee stated that Iraq witnessed during the recent period major human rights violations against the demonstrators in some governorates from burning public and private property, or violating the right of the demonstrator to express an opinion or bypassing the security forces by some of the subjugated elements, indicating that the Rights Committee Al-Man was a pioneer in cooperating with the High Commission for Human Rights, calling on political blocs and parties to support the work of the commission and not to exert pressure on it in any way, to ensure the building of a state that respects the rights of the citizen and defends his human dignity.
MP Al-Salhi called for the necessity of full cooperation with the directors of the offices of the commission in all governorates because of their oversight role in searching for any violation, discrimination or corruption that occurs in state departments in order to deliver them to their references in the Board of Commissioners in Baghdad.
MP Al-Salhi pointed out the necessity of employing young graduates in large investment projects that take large sums of money from the country until urgent solutions are found for them regarding the appointment, explaining that most of the project owners have not taken any step in supporting the graduate class.
For his part, the Chairperson of the Commission, Dr. Aqil Al-Mousawi, thanked and appreciated Mr. Arshad Al-Salhi for his continuous contact in following up on the violations that take place in the country, expressing his pleasure to visit Kirkuk and the governorate considered it a focus of attention by the commission, which will follow up many files on human rights, demonstrations, domestic violence and complaints Concerning the enforced disappearance and the file of the absentees in the governorate and discussing the side effects of the Corona virus crisis.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Human Rights Committee, Mr. Arshad Al-Salihi, received at the Parliament Office in Kirkuk, on Thursday 3 September 2020, the President of the High Commission for Human Rights and members of its Council.
