Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbousi received on Wednesday the US Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Matthew Toller.
He discussed the development of relations between Baghdad and Washington in all political, economic and military fields, and the role of the US-led international coalition in providing technical and intelligence support and training; to enable Iraqi security forces to fight terrorism and pursue sleeper cells and protect the Iraqi border and airspace.
He also discussed the need to expand the participation of US companies in investment in the areas of energy and housing, and provide employment opportunities for the largest number of young people.
For his part, the US ambassador reiterated his country's keenness to support the Iraqi government and people, maintain its political stability and sovereignty, and work to strengthen its military capabilities to protect its borders, and develop Iraqi air defense capabilities, while denying the US responsibility for military violations of Iraqi airspace and striking some military sites and stores Gear.
