Iraqi Forces Alliance spokesman Faleh al-Issawi said on Thursday that the immunity of all deputies accused of corruption will be lifted, revealing the number of deputies who have been lifted immunity from them.
Al-Issawi said in an interview with the "news" that "the actions of Parliament Speaker Mohammed Halbusi are all correct and constitutional," pointing to "the lack of political differences behind the lifting of immunity from deputies."
He added that "Halbousi received a request to lift the immunity of 21 deputies," pointing out that "Halbousi met with a coalition of forces and asked members accused of corruption files to appear before the judiciary."
Al-Issawi said that "the number of deputies who have lifted immunity from them only 5 deputies so far," likely "Halbousi to lift the immunity of all deputies accused and wanted to the judiciary, but Halbousi wants to give an opportunity for the deputies to apply in person to the presidency of the parliament."
