Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Hamid Al-Ghazzi discussed with UNAMI's Special Representative Marta Ruids the next steps for the projects and programs implemented in the country's governorates, especially with regard to the work of the Executive Committee and the Stabilization Team .
The Secretary General expressed his keenness to resolve outstanding issues and overcome all obstacles, most notably the obligations of the Iraqi government with regard to the program of restoring stability, stressing the near resolution of this file with UNDP in the coming days .
Regarding the Executive Committee for the Restoration of Stability in Iraq, the Secretary-General confirmed that it would take up its functions in July, praising the efforts of the United Nations in support of efforts to restore stability, construction and reconstruction .
For her part, Ruedes reviewed the priorities of the program during the next phase, including reducing the current funding gap through the launch of financial allocations and recovery, stressing that the strategy of the United Nations leads to the establishment of durable solutions, and create a long-term effective partnership with the Iraqi government .
The two sides agreed to designate the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers as a platform and gateway for coordination and cooperation with international partners and donors.
