The Cabinet held its regular meeting in Baghdad on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, Mr. Adil Abd Al-Mahdi.
The Cabinet discussed the recommendations of the Ministerial Council on Energy and agreed to allocate funds for the purchase of gas to support Iraq’s energy needs.
The Cabinet voted to establish a high-level committee to oversee the convening of a meeting of Kirkuk Provincial Council to review the province’s investment plan for 2019 and to make recommendations to the Cabinet.
The committee will be headed by the Minister of Planning and includes other ministers, the Governor of Kirkuk, the Head of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit and the Chairman of the Supreme Coordinating Committee for the Provinces.
The Cabinet discussed health service provisions in a number of provinces, and approved the establishment of the Institute of Health Professions and Midwifery in Al-Shatrah district in Dhi Qar province.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks 2007.
