The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers calls on Japanese companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, Japanese investment companies to contribute to reconstruction projects and rehabilitation and training in Iraq.

This came during his meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Baghdad Naofumi Hashimoto and a number of advisers at the World Bank.

The Secretary-General stressed that Iraq is an attractive environment for investment in light of the security and political stability of Iraq, indicating that the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers will perform its tasks to provide facilities and coordination with various agencies to support the efforts of the Japanese Embassy. For his part, the Japanese Ambassador reviewed the initiative to link the economic development in security presented by Japan to the Office of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, adding that the talks are continuing to activate this.

The ambassador expressed his hope to establish a fund for the initiative, especially as the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers is communicating with donors and part of the funds can be allocated to this initiative, pointing to the determination of his country to prepare a joint study with the Iraqi side in this regard. The World Bank Advisor also presented a summary of the results of the previous conference held In Japan to activate the initiative that focuses on containing young people and providing job opportunities for the unemployed.
