The Minister of Planning congratulates World Press Freedom Day and calls for guaranteeing journalists' rights and remembering their sacrifices

Minister of Planning Dr. Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi on Friday congratulated the journalists and the press family in Iraq on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, calling for the importance of ensuring the rights of journalists and giving them the opportunity to become citizens.

Dr. Nouri al-Dulaimi praised the efforts exerted by the press family, praising the distinguished performance of the Iraqi press, pointing out the importance of the monitoring role of the media in diagnosing the challenges and negatives and explaining the positive side in the public and private sectors.
The Minister of Planning called for the importance of making such occasions an opportunity to remind and observe the basic principles, to evaluate the press reality in Iraq and to address any attempt to silence the mouths, with the importance of recalling the sacrifices of the press family in Iraq in order to carry out its tasks.
