On the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Arab financial bodies (the Council of Arab Ministers of Finance and the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development) held in Kuwait, the Iraqi delegation met under the chairmanship of Mr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance, (2.19 / 4/25), together with Mr. Nayef Al-Hajraf, Kuwait's Minister of Finance and the Kuwaiti delegation accompanying him. The main points of the meeting were:
The outcomes of the Kuwait Reconstruction Conference, which dealt with the obstacles that faced the implementation of many of the resolutions of the Conference, especially from the Iraqi side,
The Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait thanked the State of Kuwait for its efforts in this regard and promised to work to remove the existing obstacles, and to implement and activate the outcome of the conference. On the other side of the meeting were discussed plans to establish the common border areas and the stages of negotiations in this regard and is supposed to meet technical bodies of the parties during the coming days to outline common understandings. One of the themes of the meeting was dealing with the customs duties and the issue of equalizing these fees with other neighboring countries. The two delegations decided to continue to communicate and discuss how to harmonize the fees with surrounding countries.
The two sides stressed the need to expand trade relations and facilitate matters and take steps to exclude him from the bureaucracy.
