Bank Story #373 3/25/19

Kaseyko1:
I just wanted to give you an update with Mxx xxxxx Bank in OKC. This past Thursday I went with my aunt who has an account at Mid-First to do some general banking. While she was in another area of the bank, I inquired of the teller about opening up an account at their location.
The teller started explaining to me the process. After some general chitchat, I asked her if they had a wealth manager at their location. When I made a comment that I was involved with the currency exchange that was to happen this next week, the teller's supervisor immediately started talking to me and stated they could help me and would like to do business with me.
She gave me the name and number of their wealth manager, as well as taking my phone number for him to contact me directly. I did let them know I had an account with BOA and that I understood they were to be one of the lead banks with the currency exchange.
And when the supervisor started with some general conversation, all of a sudden her bank's branch manager started talking to me from her office - and she had several customers in her office!
She reiterated that they do have a wealth manager and he would be most accommodating to me in setting up the time and place for our appointment. At this point my aunt returned to the foyer and we left.
I received a call from their wealth manager today and he was very pleasant to speak with. He caught himself before he went too far in providing me info he knew. He asked me what I knew about the exchange. He acted like he didn't know that much about the currency exchange; however, with his response to my questions and knowledge about the exchange, he knew more about the exchange than he was letting on - or what he was allowed to say.
After we had some discussions about the various currencies, I did make the comment that I understood a contract rate would be available. At this point his demeanor changed a little bit and he asked me how much dinar I had and what the price I paid for the currency was. I did give him some info. I've heard two different stories that this bank would and would not do exchanges. That's why I brought up the contract rate.
I was also keeping in mind what kind of interest rate I could receive, if this bank was not involved with the exchange itself. He never confirmed or denied that Mid-First would be doing currency exchanges.
At this point he stated that "once the currency has been converted to the dollar," he would be more than happy to meet with me and discuss my options, that right at this moment it was a little premature to really be able to discuss my plans, with regard to any kind of humanitarian project.
Well, I'm pretty excited now from the info I've received from the three banks I've dealt with - Chase, BOA and Mxx xxxxx. Let's hope this is FINALLY our week. From everything Tony and Ray have shared and what I've read coming out of Iraq, it should be.
I'll keep you posted on any other info I receive. I'm hopeful he may contact me to set up an exchange appointment.
