Media and Communications Authority imposes fines on mobile phone companies and reason!

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
The Communications and Information Authority on Thursday imposed fines on mobile phone operators (Asiacell, Zain Iraq and Cork Telecom) due to poor quality of service offered to subscribers.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the authority said: "The fines decision was based on the reports of the specialized technical teams of the Authority, which conduct ongoing inspection rounds in all areas of Iraq, in addition to the complaints received by the Authority through the Consumer Voice Department on toll free number 177 "He said.
"The decision, in addition to financial fines, obligates the companies of Zain, Asia Cell and Korek Telecom to improve the service over a specified period of time, otherwise the Media and Communications Authority will take more deterrent measures in proportion to the reform measures, Between those companies and the Authority. "
The TRA confirmed that all subscribers to mobile telecommunications services were "following up on these companies and directing them to ensure the best telecommunications services".
