BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
Iran's record on regional issues, especially stability and security, and the return of calm to some countries such as Iraq and Syria, as well as Yemen, is very clear, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassimi said on Saturday.
"Iran's vision of the neighboring countries and the countries of the region has always been positive, based on peaceful coexistence, strengthening relations and consolidating collective efforts to establish lasting peace and stability in the region and further develop economic cooperation," Qasimi said.
He added that "the Islamic Republic has followed and continues to maintain relations with neighboring countries for the last few years," stressing that "continuing the relations on a continuous basis with neighboring countries is a comprehensive policy and clear to the Islamic public."
"Iran, as well as maintaining relations with neighboring countries and some neighboring countries, is willing to make joint efforts with all regional countries to promote harmony and peaceful coexistence and to reduce some differences between some countries in the region," he said.
