Iran to export goods to Iraq worth over $ 5.5 billion

The Director General of the Office of Foreign Trade Services of the Organization for Trade Development of Iran, said Friday that his country exported in the past seven months of this year, goods worth 5.5 to 6 billion dollars to Iraq.

"Neighboring countries' markets account for 80 percent of the main objective of Iranian goods exports, and one day the European markets have not been a major target for the export of Iranian goods," Farhad Nouri told the official Tasnim news agency. "Some Iranian goods are still exported to the European markets despite the imposition of sanctions on Iran by America."

"Iraq is Iran's first trading partner and we have good exports to this country," Nuri said. "During the seven months of this year, 5.5 to 6 billion dollars of different goods were exported to Iraq through border markets."
