Iraq launches strategy to reduce poverty until 2022

The Higher Committee for the Strategy for Poverty Alleviation in Iraq launched on Sunday its strategy for the years 2018 to 2022.

The Minister of Planning Salman Jumaili said during a ceremony held by the ministry in Baghdad that the ministry sought to adopt a scientific approach in dealing with the problems of economy and development In Iraq, through the survey, research and analysis of the economic problems experienced by the country.

Jumaili added that the ministry has established a comprehensive database based on the social and economic survey of the family and other surveys that provide reliable data on the living conditions of individuals and families in Iraq, pointing out that these surveys identified a high level of poverty that the government should deal with and address and mitigate its effects.

He pointed out that this strategy represents a vision consistent with the general directions of the Ministry included in the National Development Plan from 2018 to 2022, stressing that the strategy is consistent with Iraq's vision for sustainable development 2030, it operates under the flexible planning model that works on decentralization and granting the provinces more planning powers And operational.
