The director of the Iraqi market in the Organization of Trade Development of Iran Mahdi Najat Nia, Iraq is one of the best export markets for Iran.

"Iraq was one of the best export markets for Iran. One of the reasons for Iran's low share in the Iraqi market is that the Iranian people and producers do not have enough information about the potential of the Iraqi market," Nia told Fars news agency.

He pointed out that the symposium held in the city of Ardabil (northwestern Iran) to identify the Iraqi market, where he explained all the issues related to the conditions of exports to Iraq for traders and marketing way to this country.

"Iraq imports 99 percent of its needs and is estimated at 50 billion dollars, a consumer country in all fields. In this context, Iran can export goods to Iraq at a maximum value of 7 billion dollars," Nia said.

Turning to the vast potential in Ardabil province in the tourism sector, Ardebil has the best potential to attract Iraqi tourists, which will increase Erdebil's revenues from hard currency, he said.
