US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Seelman on Tuesday disclosed US financial assistance to Iraq, saying the US government will provide 75 million dollars in additional funding to help stabilize Iraq after it is fully liberated from a staunch organization.

The United States plans to provide a total of $ 150 million for stabilization efforts in 2018, bringing the total US contribution to $ 265.3 million by 2015.

"Our commitment to the Iraqi people does not end with the elimination of an oppressor," he said in a statement. "The people of the liberated areas now face a tremendous challenge of rebuilding their lives and restoring their cultural heritage."

"This money will help restore essential services such as water and electricity so that Iraqi families from all ethnic and religious backgrounds can return to their homes in a safe, voluntary and dignified manner," he said.

"These funds will be provided to the United Nations Development Program through the United States Agency for International Development, where 24 international donors are supporting the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for stability, which is managed in close cooperation with the Government of Iraq at the federal and local levels," he said.

"The stabilization program will continue to be supported by this new funding, helping residents of the liberated areas to return to their homes and resuming their normal lives by restoring services such as water, electricity, health and education.
