The head of the Iraqi Insurance Association, Abdul Hassan Zeadi, said Sunday that Iraq is losing one billion dollars annually because of the lack of insurance businessmen who import goods from countries inside Iraq.

"Iraq currently has 33 insurance companies across the country, including 3 government companies," Ziadi said in an exclusive interview with Al-Iktissad News. "Iraq imports goods valued at more than $ 40 billion a year and businessmen are securing these goods in countries Which is imported, not in Iraq. "

He pointed out that "the loss of Iraq from this measure is estimated at more than one billion dollars a year," noting that "Iraqi insurance companies have shown their willingness to businessmen to secure all their goods from the country imported to the store in Iraq and pay all the damage inflicted on them."
