Maliki and Hamoudi warn of postponement of the elections and the inclusion of Iraq in a constitutional vacuum

warned the Secretary General of the Islamic Dawa Party , Nouri al - Maliki, the head of the Islamic Supreme Council Hamoudi, Wednesday, from any attempt to postpone the elections and involving Iraq 's constitutional vacuum, calling to "dissolve" differences and purify the political atmosphere to create an electoral atmosphere. The Hamoudi office added that "this came during a meeting that included the leadership of the Supreme Council and the Dawa Party, and discussed the issues of war on terrorism, the elections, the crisis of the region and its implications, and coordinate the positions of national forces on vital issues," noting that "the meeting dealt with the Personal Status Law and what is raised against him, However, the parties that criticized the law were not absorbed, but were motivated by non-national motives to mix the papers. "
On 31 October 2017, the Council of Ministers voted to hold parliamentary elections on 15 May.
