Iraq has offered one billion euros to Iraq to support humanitarian efforts and rebuild the country, Iraqi Planning Minister Salman Jumaili said on Saturday.
Al-Jumaili said during a speech at the opening of the fourth Iraqi-German forum for economy and investment held in the German capital Berlin, according to a statement by his ministry.
The Iraqi minister expressed appreciation for "the efforts of the German government to support Iraq in its war against terrorism and to enable it to rebuild the liberated areas."
"The German support to Iraq at the financial level amounted to 1 billion euros allocated to support humanitarian affairs and provide stability for the return of displaced people to their areas and the provision of relief materials and reconstruction."
He noted that "the German unconditional loan granted to Iraq and the value of 500 million euros and was allocated for the reconstruction of liberated areas was launched during the month of February of this year 2017."
