WE ARE DESPERATE TO KEEP MARY ALIVE, LISA WITH FOOD AND RENT, PETER AND SERGEY IN MEDICATION (THROAT CANCER – UGLY PICTURES OF THE THROAT LESIONS), AND MAYBE A BIT FOR ME TO STAY STABLE. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN THE BEST OF SHAPE WITH THE WORKLOAD AND SLEEP IS ELUSIVE BUT THE WORK HAS TO BE DONE.

Oh, really? When has trickle down worked before? When has the 1% allowed the funds to flow away from them to benefit others? Look around man, the opposite is happening. It is not the amount of money that is the issue, it is what is being done with it. There are more billionaires and millionaires than ever before, where is the trickle down??

A 2015 paper by researchers for the International Monetary Fund argues that there is no trickle-down effect as the rich get richer:

[I]f the income share of the top 20 percent (the rich) increases, then GDP growth actually declines over the medium term, suggesting that the benefits do not trickle down. In contrast, an increase in the income share of the bottom 20 percent (the poor) is associated with higher GDP growth.
