Parliamentary Finance: 800 billion dollars smuggled out of Iraq

Said the Parliamentary Finance Committee member Ahmed Sarhan, Wednesday, that there is information indicating the smuggling of approximately 800 billion dollars abroad, while noting that the binding for the investigation of the contraband and submit them to eliminate the government.

Ahmed said in a press statement today: "There is a resolution passed by the House of Representatives of the Iraqi government should be committed to investigate the money and smuggled the contraband to them in addition to the counting."

He added, "What about (700-800) billion dollars smuggled abroad," adding that "the government would investigate all the people who smuggled the currency to be brought to justice later to be punished just."

He pointed out that "the Finance Committee in the process of monitoring the investigation of the process of that money," pointing out that "political conditions that occur from time to time within the Iraqi parliament to prevent the completion of these incumbent upon the Commission errands."

The MP for the coalition of state law, Nahla Alhbabi revealed, earlier, about the existence of a call for the formation of an international committee working to retrieve money smuggled out of Iraq.
