The Kindness of a stranger - Sometimes it takes so little to make a big difference

What a world it would be if everybody cared about others, instead of themselves alot of the time- I have done that at a night club where the mother,who was a nurse, had to use the restroom,[ she had stopped by there, to wait for a friend to pick her up, that never showed up}, and wasn't drinking,and was gone for about a half hour, and I was left with a little girl, with a small book about animals, and read it to her until her mother came back- People couldn't believe it, and this was back in 1987- She was very grateful, and another woman that was noticing what I had been doing, told me, 'it takes alot of courage to do what you did, and what a beautiful person you are, for looking after that little girl'- I had one of my own at the time,so it came natural to me, I was nervous, however, because I was wondering if the woman was going to come back- She did, of course and I ended up giving her and her daughter a ride home, as it was only 6 miles away, and I didn't mind at all- There are still some good people in the world, and I was very glad to have helped them out-
