Three attacks by the IS elements foiled, in Samarra, Tigris canal and Anbar

BAGHDAD / NINA / The Ministry of Defense announced on Friday thwarting three attacks by the IS elements in Samarra, Tigris canal and Anbar, confirming the killing of / 78 / elements of the IS through confronting those attacks.
The ministry said in a statement today that the information received by the military intelligence led to foil an attack by the IS gangs in Al-Gulam area in Samarra," indicating that "the operation that has been carried out in coordination with the Army Aviation led to the killing of / 19 / elements of the IS and destroying / 5 / vehicles including those in it.
The statement added that the detachments of military intelligence and the first division and the Army Aviation foiled an attack by the IS in the Tigris canal and killed / 21 / elements of them and destroyed / 5 / vehicles belonging to them.
It pointed out that the military intelligence in cooperation with the Army Aviation foiled an attack near the Japanese Bridge in Anbar killing / 38 / elements of them, as well as the burning of / 11 / vehicles. / End
