Shafaq News / A member of the Parliament for the State of Law Coalition MP Abdul Salam al-Maliki announced on Monday, that the Iraqi National Alliance failed to agree on a candidate to fill the post of prime minister, which makes its coalition and candidate, outgoing Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki ass the closest to the formation of the next government.
Maliki said in a press release stated to “Shafaq News", that "State of law is the biggest bloc in parliament, as interpreted by the Federal Court, but this does not mean State of law for abandoning its allies in the National Alliance."
“The constitutional entitlement is a thing and moving the political process inside the alliance within their frames that preserve Iraq and its people is something else, especially as the alliance failed to submit a candidate for prime minister, making State of law the closest to the formation of the next government."
Maliki added " some talked about the presence of 235 MPs refuse to give al-Maliki a third term is a clear mistake, according to the number of votes obtained as all indicators and messages that we have received from the rest of the parties indicate that al-Maliki will get more votes than that obtained by the candidates of the presidents and the parliament" .
Ahrar bloc affiliated to the National Alliance has revealed at the end of last month, submitting 5 names for the post of prime minister represents the components of the alliance as substitutes for Maliki.
The main poles of the National alliance (Ahrar, the Supreme Council, Fadihela ) reject the assumption of al-Maliki to the office, which is also the position of the Sunnis and Kurds
