Union of Kurdistan, led by Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, stated it will soon introduce an official to replace the president in Baghdad Shar Press reported.The Kurds in Iraq believe according to the law of dividing key posts between Iraqi lines and groups, the presidency is for the Kurds and PUK has stated it will soon introduce a member to replace Talabani whose term is over and seems unable continue presidency due to his severe heart attack in December 2012 and being in Berlin Charite hospital since then.According to all criteria Iraq’s presidency belongs to the PUK and the party is preparing grounds to introduce its candidate, the PUK Central Council Spokesman Latif Nirwaei told media affiliated with the PUK former Deputy Leader Barham Salih and Kirkuk Governor and Talabani top Advisor Najmadin Karim are two officials many believe one of them will heir Talabani.It is worth mentioning that Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani defended in a statement the right of the Kurds to have Iraq’s presidency and reiterated the Kurds will make all their effort to keep the post.He, however, stated the one that is due to be announced as the candidate should win the approval of the region’s parliament.
