Is any of this crap too

So all kinds of things are coming thick and fast the last few days. Tariff laws...HCL's...bonds etc etc. So here's my questions...1. Are these things actually happening. 2. Are they effecting the RV in a good/bad way if they do/don't happen? 3. What are the effects if they don't get all these things done by the appointed dates.

I tend to take the NAP approach...

If you read it.. think on it for a few days and when you wake up you should know whether or not they were correct or made up lies.

1. Yes, it appears so.
2. Possibly ... these are all things we who have looked to the news have been watching for since before I became involved. Most are things that Shabibi specifically said had to be in place before any change in currency values took place. 
3. Nothing ... there are no appointed dates, no mandated deadlines.

It does look like this time they have actually taken place. However, one thing that I do not see is a stable situation in Iraq. I am also not entirely sure we have a fully seated GOI in place, and that was another condition that Shabibi mentioned as essential. We MAY still see it happen, but don't hold your breath.

I just did my monthly review of the "status" , and I CAN say:

that the deposit of Kurdistans money into the FUND will be from OIL sales, as part of that money is supposed to be used to pay back Kuwait.  There is still money outstanding, and they are supposed to have transparency in their oil sales for the "country" - not just Bagdad.

that the Tariff Law DID indeed go into effect, (read the article here https://www.dinardaily.net/t30394-prices-of-cigarettes-and-alcohol-are-expected-to-rise-after-the-application-of-the-tariff-and-experts-are-concerned) and surprisingly to me, they are "concerned" about the effect of the tax on cigarettes and alcohol.  I am surprised because when the US Soldiers were there - alcohol was contraband because it was a "Muslim" country.  (did you know that a fifth of Crown will fit nicely into a can of Coffee, and superglue will help keep the lid on during inspection?  don't ask how I know).

that ANYTHING that helps Iraq progress in the areas of laws and business is a GOOD thing, BUT - just because one thing or another is complete, does not mean that WE will receive the benefit yet.

There is MORE - so much MORE that Iraq as a government has to do for their country - but it only has to be decided that IQD be internationally recognized as a currency of value that other countries will accept for US to reap any benefit.

Wow...thats some great info right there!!  And I have heard that a fifth will fit in to alot of different places. Also heard that the mini bottlles from an aircraft can easily be slid in to the clips of a .50cal beltfed...and no there isn't photographic proof of that anywhere on my laptop!


My understanding is that when the tarrifs go in to effect the prices will rise, but the revalue of the currency would then balance out that cost. So the cost of the goods plus the tarrifs are more than the original cost pre-tarrif...but because the currency has a higher value they are offset?

That is what the gurus are spewing ...
