I guarantee her first shoes will be running shoes, followed closely by snow shoes. Both mom and dad are runners and in fact both run. Dad held and possibly still holds the NA record for 10K on snowshoes.

If that's the case, she will be taught well- If I tried that at my age, I'd be dead!! 10K is 8 miles, isn't it? Not sure about miles/kilometers-

More like 6, a mile is about 1.6 K. I remember when we had to redo all our tracks because the USATF changed over to the metric mile (1600M).

If I know mom she's already planning her first post-postpartum run... not to mention her first workout. She's a runner and triathlete so I imagine she can't wait to get back in the pool as well.

Awww. What a beautiful sweet baby is your little Daphne. Both her parents look fit and healthy, too. In fact, Mom doesn't look like she just had a baby. Your family is much blessed. Do they live near you so you can see the wee one in person?

I have not been graced yet with a grandchild - but I am willing to wait for the children to be ready. Oldest is 21 and I can wait a while. What a precious gift. Enjoy!

Dad coaches track and cross country, mom is an assistant coach and professional photographer. Both are very athletic and run triathlons, and other races. Both were All Americans in Track and Cross Country, and dad was on the USA Triathlon team for several years, so yea, they are fit. Mom was down to the gym doing for a lite workout the day before she went into labor and was running mile intervals not much more than a week ago. This little sweetie was likely born wearing running shoes.
