Souvenirs from God
Souvenirs from God

I will remember the works of the Lord; surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
—Psalm 77:11 NKJV
Have you ever felt that you forget what you should remember and you remember what you should forget? I certainly have! Jesus chastised the disciples on one of their journeys because they had forgotten about a miracle He had done. They started out on a trip and suddenly realized they didn’t have enough bread with them. They only had one loaf, and that would not be nearly sufficient. He then began to chastise them, asking if they had forgotten when He fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish. Had they forgotten another amazing miracle when He fed four thousand people with seven loaves? Had they remembered, they would not have been worried about going hungry because they didn’t have enough bread with them.
If we would remember the miracles God has done in our pasts, we would not so easily fall into worry and fear when we face new challenges. When David faced Goliath and no one encouraged him in the fight, he remembered a lion and a bear he had slain with God’s help. Because he remembered that past accomplishment, he had no fear of his current situation against Goliath.
Are you facing something right now that looms like a giant in your life? Remember: Nothing is impossible with God.
Love God Today: Take time right now to recall some of the great things God did for you in the past, and courage will fill your heart.

Re: Souvenirs from God
Isn't that the truth? Each time we face a new hurdle in life, it's good to remember the impossible situations from which we were miraculously delivered. I know "God helps them that help themselves." But sometimes God helps them that simply ask for His help. Thanks for the reminder, horizon.
