I drive a Dodge, 2003 1500 SLT 4x4, Hemi, and get 12.6 miles to the gallon. The newer ones get better gas mileage, but mine is paid off, so no car payments, just maintenance. have you seen the price tag of a new anything? Holy Cow !!

Well I'm here to tell ya that Daimler Chrysler is at it again in their new trucks-Push button slush-o-matics- Give me a 727 Torqueflite with a shift kit installed ANY DAY!!

Yes, she needs to go back where her "friends" are. If there ever was a person who should have been tried for treason - that would be her. She needs to change her name to Benedict Arnold Jr. and leave. That isn't just my opinion either.

Allyrose,
Such a beautiful name you picked!
Please, please, please do not take offense at this, but you are about to be rich and loving that chocolate is fine - I could say I am in love with it, but I never eat it. Whatever is making you crave that sugar can also give you Diabetes... I would HATE to see that happen to you. What would be good for you to do is to get tested, especially after you induldge and make sure that's not where you craving is coming from.
You are far to nice a person to put yourself at risk...
As for everyone else, please be careful with your sugar intake... That is one disease you can probably avoid all together by just not taking sugar. I have seen too many people around me with diabetes and it's no fun. My husband got it, but fortunately for him he was alergic to the pills, so he went for natural control of it. It's just no fun to watch everyone else having cake, etc. and he has to stay away.... I can't take it either so I will never get diabetes. I wish the rest of you sweet eaters take full control and watch those sweets... They can leave a very bitter taste...
I truly do wish all of you the very best, especially if we do get our RV... I think by now we all deserve what we are going to get after what we have gone through and I know it will change my life for the better and here's hopeing the best for everyone...

Peppermint Patti: Aren't you sweet .... oops, I mean kind, to give us some good advice about chocolate and other sugars. As for myself, I find that I talk about it more than I eat it, although I do love a good dark chocolate. I eat 75% - 80% pure dark, so it doesn't take but a couple of bites to satisfy my craving. On the subject of diabetes, though, I wanted to suggest a book to you that aim88 first told us about. It's called "Wheat Belly" by William Davis, MD. He cites some very interesting research about modern day genetically modified wheat, how it is metabolized, and its possible connection to the huge increase in the incidence of diabetes in our population. You seem like a lady who likes to do your research, and you'll find this book very readable and filled with lots of good references.
To your excellent health! :flower:

Yea, you know - that "RV Thang." That illusive, deceptive, contrary, deceitful, unresponsive, disruptive, uncommunicative, disillusionary THANG! That thang.
Sorry you thought it was you -- you are nice, considerate, smart, responsive, pretty, sophisticated, and neat. NO ONE would ever mistake you for a THANG.

Re: Bear on recaps...May 31
Thank you SEB, I appreciate that. Also for one and all and especially SEB chocolate is actually good for you. Now, here's the way to do it and you only get the benefit.
Get yourself a package of Bakers Chocolate... Melt it down, add almonds (not salt on them), may want to put in coconut also, and some form of liquid - like a thick milk.... Sweeten to taste with NOW FOODS Stevia - you can also add some vanilla if you like... Then put it on waxed paper - let it harden and it's really dinamite... My husband just loves it when we do this.
Actually, do the chocolate like I just said - then have some big giant size strawberries ready and cote them with the chocolate and let it harden on them. Really, really, really good and nothing bad for you excepting what you use for the milk... I love those flavored creamers. WOAH it's just soooooo good...

PP: since I just planted 800 strawberry plants (supposed the have the BIG berries) I'll try it when they bare fruit. NO, not on all 800 - that would make me have to buy into the chocolate factory!!!

Ohhh PP what a beautiful kind soul you are. Thank you for your kind words and concen for all of us here. I have to admit I don't eat as many sweets as I used to now because my husband has gone on a sugar free and low fat diet so I don't eat sweets either to help him thru it, I still have sugar in my coffee tho lol! It's funny tho, how you don't miss something if it is not in your view, strange how our mind work! Love you guys!

alsafeone,
That's a whole lot of strawberries.... That's the one thing we never grew. Making the chocolate strawberries on organic home grown strawberries would be so incredibly delicious...
You should be able to make a lot with that many plants? I've never known anyone to grow that many? That's like someone growing them for a living?
Anyway, have fun, I know you will...

Re: Bear on recaps...May 31
PP: The guy I bought the strawberry sets from has over 10.000 plants and he sells the runners off of them. HE sells the plants in the spring and strawberries when they come on until frost.
I planted them for a disabled Viet Nam vet with PTSS who is 70 years young and
is trying to grow and sell vegetables on a U-Pick basis. He used to raise potatoes and sell to a distributor, but his PTSS got so he could not operate the equipment so I got him to start with tomatoes in a green house. He just took it to a different level expanding to the greenhouse and 5 acres. Gives him something to do.
When he farmed (yes, we have farms in Alaska) he had 20 acres of potatoes and processed them during the winter in a cement block "barn" that he built by himself to earthquake specifications. (Must have done a good job because one day the produce company truck driver backed into the building trying to back up to the door - the truck lost with no building damage.) I helped him for over 25 years while he had that operation going. When he decided at age 68 to start "farming" again I did some quick thinking and suggested the green house. Works good - all winter he "plans" and all summer he "does."
