Hey kids do you know you can now safely and legally carry from your home state to another? _____________________________________

Are you concerned about security? Are you concerned about Airports?
This is Reciprocity Bill HR822 is wholly noteworthy IMO.

The bill is about States honoring each other permits like they do with driver's licenses. Also, it's not law yet, Obama has to sign it, let it become law without his signature, or veto it.

I hope he will sign it, but I have my doubts.

In Alaska, carry permits are not required, but offered, would make one want to get to one, if this passes and is signed so when we visit other states we would have no problems

As long as you don't try driving through Canada with it.

Re: Let's go Cash-In
Canada and Mexico do NOT recognize USA laws... carrying a gun into Canada or Mexico without official permission to do so can get you into a lot of trouble and maybe even into one of their jails for a time.
Neither Canada or mexico want their citizens to have weapons... Canada is a bit more relaxed about it but Mexico...
The interesting thing about this new Law (when it becomes law, if it becomes law) is TSA... Do you get to carry your gun on board an airplane... I doubt that. My point is, if you are flying how do you transport you pistol... in the luggage compartment? Maybe....
TSA folks are pretty insane already, this is going to push all their buttons.

Re: Let's go Cash-In
After 50+ trips thru Canada, I understand how it works,
Rifles and shotguns only, must be 18"+ barrel length, You must fill out forms, 8 guns per form, no limit on guns or forms. They check every gun and cross check serial numbers, And oh yea, $50 CAD per form fee.
In Mexico is is illegal to even carry ammo into the country, but there are some exceptions on shotguns (I think), I don't know as it looked like to much of a hassle just to go dove hunting.
Flying has not been to bad, thru Anchorage, fill out the paperwork, they check everything, just takes a few extra minutes,
It seems at this time the folks at the TSA that are working in a airport where guns come thru very often, the process is no to bad.they seem to know that folks shipping guns know the rules at least as good as they do, maybe better.
But I know some folks who keep guns with freinds in the lower 48 to have when they visit from Alaska so no need to fly/ship them everytime.
