The Arab Monetary Fund, in partnership with the International Monetary Fund, is organizing the Fifth Forum for Public Finance in the Arab Countries under the title " Enhancing Social Protection for Arab Countries in the Current and Post-Coronavirus Crisis", "Remotely", on Monday, November 23 , 2020. The Forum will open each From His Excellency Obaid Humaid Al Tayer , Minister of State for Financial Affairs in the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al Hamidi, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Monetary Fund, and Mrs. Kristalina GeorgievaDirector General of the International Monetary Fund, in the presence and participation of their Excellencies, Arab finance ministers, central bank governors and Arab monetary institutions, as well as a number of heads and senior officials and experts from regional and international financial institutions, ministries of finance and central banks in Arab countries.

The forum discusses financial policy issues and prospects for economic and financial developments, with the aim of exchanging experiences and identifying the challenges facing economic policymakers in the Arab region within the framework of regional and international economic and financial developments, in light of the current and post-crisis phase of the Coronavirus. The forum will also address the requirements for enhancing social protection, including discussing mechanisms for providing support to low-income families and how to support economic growth to enhance financial stability.

On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Hamidi, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Monetary Fund, stressed the importance of the forum as a forum to enhance opportunities for exchanging experiences and expertise among Arab countries to discuss the challenges of financial policy in the context of current economic and financial developments, noting the efforts made by the authorities in the Arab countries On the level of achieving economic and financial stability and promoting comprehensive and sustainable growth, stressing the role of economic and financial policies in supporting the recovery phase, maintaining social stability, and supporting the most needy groups during the exit from the crisis. His Excellency also renewed his wishes that God protect our dear Arab countries and the countries of the world from this epidemic, and that we quickly overcome the repercussions of this crisis.
