Abd Zayer to (Degla): Basmajah station is one of the largest corruption files in Iraq

Today, Tuesday, the head of the Iraqi Business Council, Dawood Abd Zayer, described Basmajah station as one of the largest corruption files in Iraq, calling on Electricity Minister Majid Mahdi Hantoush to move against the monopolistic companies controlling the ministry’s contracts and free them from the grip of the corrupt.

During his speech on the "Resolution for You" program, Zayer revealed that investors have dominated the ministry and its funds for the next twenty years, and that Iran cut gas to Iraq during the winter, which drives it to buy it from abroad, warning of the presence of parties weaving the electricity collection project and trying to make it a monopoly.

He added that the technical authorities in the ministry deceived the government and the people in the matter of electricity maintenance, noting that the maintenance contract for one station within a year amounted to $ 900 million, which is more than the station's value.
