The head of the Strategic Planning Committee questions the Minister of Trade regarding the Jordan Agreement and its damage to Iraq

Head of the Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of the Governmental Program and Strategic Planning, MP Hazem Al-Khalidi, addressed questions to the Minister of Trade regarding the feasibility of the Jordan Agreement and its harm to Iraq and the disclosure of fictitious currency exchange companies.
Al-Khalidi's questions were as follows:
- It was stated in Article (3) of the Ministry of Commerce Law that the Ministry seeks to achieve its objectives by the following means: Third: Study draft economic and technical cooperation agreements and express opinions regarding them in coordination with the concerned ministries.
The question: What is the opinion of the Ministry of Trade of the Iraqi-Jordanian agreement, what are the goods exempted from customs duties, and what are the goods that do not cause harm to the local Iraqi industry and agriculture?
- Among the tasks of the Companies Registration Department is to verify and monitor the existence of a real company or branch of a foreign company and issue import licenses for companies operating inside Iraqi lands, but after 2003, it was noticed that there were many fictitious currency exchange companies that harm the national economy and convert hard currency outside Iraq? Have these phantom companies and their names been diagnosed? What are the Ministry's procedures regarding it?
