The Executive Command of the German Armed Forces announced that about 60 military experts will be sent to Iraq as scheduled.

"After all, we are still proceeding from the fact that we can continue to carry out our tasks once the situation changes (in Iraq after the assassination of Soleimani)," German news agency quoted Simon Hoffman as saying.

He said that military experts will be deployed in Erbil from Turgelov in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, as well as at a base 30 km north of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Hoffman confirmed that they would be transferred in groups to Iraq, noting that the process was "under way".
