Korea's Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. said Monday it has won a $ 86 million contract to build a tunnel under the waters of Khor Al Zubair.

"It won a contract with the General Company for Iraqi Ports (GCPI) to build a yard equipped with a tunnel under the waters of Khor Al-Zubair by November 2021," the company said, citing the company.
She pointed out that "this deal comes as a first stage of a project to build a tunnel under the waters of Khor Al-Zubair, linking the areas of Umm Qasr and FAO in the southern part of the country."

She added, "This project is the fourth won by the company in Iraq this year," noting that it "won contracts worth $ 460 million in Iraq, including projects to build roads and airports."
