Iraqi Interior Ministry announced the death toll of the protests in several cities.

This came at a press conference for the spokespersons of the ministries of defense, interior, health and joint operations in Iraq.

Interior Ministry spokesman Major General Saad Maan said the death toll in the protests reached 104, including members of the security forces.

He said 51 public buildings and eight political party headquarters had been torched by the demonstrators.

For its part, the Joint Operations Command confirmed that the security forces protect diplomatic missions and state institutions.
