Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Halbousi condemned the report, which was broadcast by Al-Hurra satellite channel, and said it "targeted the institutions and shrine of religious authorities in Iraq."
He pointed out in a statement that the religious authorities in Iraq "have been and still have a great role in maintaining the stability of the country and society with its national positions."
The President of the House of Representatives that "the time has come for the State organs exercise their role in activating the codes of professional behavior adopted media in the work of satellite channels, and control the media space; to stop the abuse of state institutions and religious institutions without investigating accuracy and facts, while maintaining the freedom of publication and the rights of free national media ".

This prompted the US Embassy in Baghdad to emphasize that "the State Department does not have control over the content of the channel" Al-Hurra ", which deals with transparency and impartiality, important issues in the region and US policies, with care to present all views on issues of concern to followers."
"The US State Department and US embassies around the world have no control over the content of the programs in al-Hurra. The Iraqi government has the right to respond and hold al-Hurra accountable for any report that it considers to be inaccurate, incompetent, or contradictory, " the embassy said.
