[size=36]Iraq and Iran exchange the remains of soldiers killed during the 1980's[/size]
(Reuters) - Iraq and Iran on Thursday exchanged the remains of the Iraq-Iran war at the Sumar border post with Iran in Mandali district of Diyala.
The Iranian authorities handed over 54 remains of Iraqi soldiers and the Iraqi authorities handed over 26 remains of Iranian soldiers.
The handover ceremony was held under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
A local source told Mawazine News that the Mandali crossing between Iraq and Iran was temporarily suspended due to the exchange of the remains of victims who were killed during the war between the two countries.
