The United Nations Mission on Thursday expressed its support for the procedures for achieving provincial elections according to international standards. The Presidency affirmed the Council's support for the Independent Electoral Commission and monitoring its work in cooperation with international organizations.

Al-Halbusi's office said in a statement received by Alsumaria News that "the Speaker of the House of Representatives met today the United Nations envoy in Iraq, Jenin Henness Blachkart, in the presence of the head of the Electoral Assistance Office, Mr. Amir Arin."

The office added that "the meeting discussed the importance of the adoption of the draft law of the first amendment to the law of provincial elections not organized in the province and districts of its No. 12 of 2018, voted by the House of Representatives last Monday."
