The Secretary-General commended the role of the Organization in supporting Iraq, pointing out the need for continued support in order to benefit from the expertise of international organizations to restore stability to all Iraqi cities, especially the city of Mosul for its exceptional status, through the development of contingency plans to accelerate the completion of programs and projects of stability and reconstruction, The Iraqi Government .

For his part, Mr. Witt praised the efforts of the Iraqi government and its support for the IOM programs in Iraq. He praised the role played by the return of some 4.2 million displaced people to their liberated areas, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation to achieve the common goal of developing standards of services for displaced people .

"The combination of local and international efforts will facilitate the end of the IDP file, and our current and future plans are also working to support displaced people who have returned home to ensure their survival," he added.
