The Ministry of Planning announced on Wednesday that Iraq and Jordan signed a memorandum of joint cooperation in the field of project implementation, reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure.

The ministry said in a statement received by the Minister of Planning Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi and Jordanian Prime Minister Omar al-Razzaz, the Amman capital witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of project implementation, reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in Iraq".

"The memorandum was signed by the Director General of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Planning, Hanaa Ismail Ibrahim, and signed by the Jordanian side, Ahmed Al Yaqoub, the head of Jordanian contractors. The memorandum came into force after signing it for five years."

Al-Dulaimi stressed that the Iraqi Contractors Union has entered into the implementation of this memorandum to enhance cooperation between the Jordanian and Iraqi private sectors in the framework of the Ministry of Planning's efforts to enhance partnership with the private sector, Ministry for Sustainable Development 2030 ".

He pointed out the importance of the memorandum in the development and exchange of experiences and research results and cooperation in the field of postgraduate studies and facilitate the task of completing the practical and scientific aspects of postgraduate students and facilitating the procedures of exporting Jordanian enterprises to Iraq to contribute to the reconstruction efforts and cooperation in the field of contracts and arbitration.

The Minister of Planning, Dr. Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi, met in Amman on Wednesday with the Jordanian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Mohammed Al-Assas. During the meeting, they discussed means of enhancing joint relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, which was attended by Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Safia al-Suhaili, Dr. Nouri al-Dulaimi agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding in the field of economic and development policies, statistical work and international and regional cooperation between the two ministries.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed al-Assas expressed his sincere appreciation for the cooperation areas that the Iraqi government has strengthened with its Arab environment. He also praised the measures of developing the cooperation cooperation between the Minister of Planning and the Minister of Planning.

The meeting discussed the coordination and development of bilateral fraternal relations in the field of economic cooperation between the planning institutions, exchanging experiences and developing skills of workers in the public and private sectors in both countries.

The Minister of Planning, Dr. Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi, discussed with Prince Sumaya bint al-Hassan, chairman of the Royal Jordanian Scientific Society, on Wednesday ways to enhance joint cooperation, stressing ways of enhancing cooperation with the relevant authorities in Iraq.

Dr. Nouri al-Dulaimi praised the distinguished efforts made by the association at the regional level, pointing out the importance of developing joint scientific expertise to serve the interests of both countries.
During his visit to the Royal Scientific Society, the Minister reviewed the research efforts contributed by the Association in applied sciences, the nature of the consultations provided by its specialized cadres, and the services provided by the laboratories of the Society, which have received many international accreditations.
For its part, the Royal Scientific Society appreciated the visit of the Minister of Planning, stressing their keenness to provide scientific and research support for Iraq and full cooperation in the development and rehabilitation of Iraqi capabilities.

In the presence of the Minister of Planning Dr. Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi and the Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Omar al-Bazaz, Amman, on Tuesday 25-06-2019, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of implementing projects and reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in Iraq.

The memorandum was signed by the Director General of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Planning, Dr. Hanaa Ismail Ibrahim, and the Jordanian side by Eng. Ahmed Al Yaqoub, the Jordanian Contractors' Association. The memorandum entered into force after signing it for a period of five years.
Dr. Nouri al-Dulaimi said that the Iraqi Contractors Union has entered into the implementation of this Memorandum to enhance cooperation between the Jordanian and Iraqi private sectors. The Ministry of Planning aims to strengthen partnership with the private sector and to play an active role in achieving the development goals within the vision Ministry of Sustainable Development 2030.
He pointed out the importance of the memorandum in the development and exchange of experiences and research results and cooperation in the field of graduate studies and facilitate the task of completing the practical and scientific aspects of postgraduate students, and facilitating the procedures of exporting Jordanian enterprises to Iraq to contribute to the reconstruction efforts and cooperation in the field of contracts and arbitration.
The signing of the memorandum of cooperation between Iraq and Jordan was attended by Mr. Ali Al-Sanafi, Chairman of the Iraqi Contractors Union and a number of businessmen from both countries.

Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mr. Hamid al-Ghazi, affirmed the current government's policy of opening up to the world and neighboring countries, especially on the basis of common interests.

This came during a meeting at his office on Wednesday with Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Montasser Al-Zu'bi, in order to activate the bilateral relations between the two countries, mainly economic and trade, in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

During the meeting, Al-Ghazzi appreciated Jordan's support for Iraq in confronting the current challenges, pointing out that Iraq seeks to improve its international relations to achieve all that is in the interest of its people without being a party to the events taking place in the regional arena at present. Playing the role of mediator in calming the situation and bringing the views closer to maintain the stability of the region.

For his part, Al-Zu'bi stressed the support of the Iraqi government and people to Iraq and its support for the requirements of recovery and reconstruction on the one hand and Iraq's return to its leading role in managing the affairs of the Arab nation on the other hand, pointing to the historical and social depth and the strong ties between the two brotherly peoples.
