Jordan's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zwati said on Sunday that supplying Jordan with Iraqi crude would be half a million tonnes from the Baiji refinery to the Zarqa oil refinery.

"Providing Jordan with Iraqi crude oil will be half a million tons from the Iraqi Baiji refinery to the Zarqa oil refinery," Zawati said in an interview with Al-Bayan newspaper.

"Jordan will buy Iraqi crude oil to meet part of its annual needs, and no more than 10,000 barrels per day, which constitutes 7 percent of the Kingdom's needs, based on the average price of Brent crude per month, "He said.

The Jordanian minister said that "will participate in the transfer of Iraqi tanks by 50% of the daily amount to Jordanian tanks," stressing "the importance of concerted efforts to make the success of the transfer of crude oil."

"Cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy is not limited to this aspect. Jordan and Iraq are working to complete the necessary procedures for the construction of an oil pipeline extending from Basra through Haditha and then to the port of Aqaba. Iraq via electricity via a joint network. "
