Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Monday congratulated Barzani on the occasion of his assumption of the post of president of the Kurdistan region, pointing out that this will positively affect the situation in Iraq and achieve more support to improve relations.

"We offer you the fullest congratulations and congratulations on the occasion of your election as President of the Kurdistan Region. We wish you all the best in your new tasks to achieve the aspirations of our dear people in the region," said Abdul Mahdi in Rukia.

"We are confident that this position will further strengthen the relations between the center and the region, which will reflect positively on the economic and security situation of our country," he said.
