A report issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Jordan, the close to the export of electricity to Iraq in less than two years. 
"The renewable energy sector has reached a combined generating capacity of renewable energy projects of 1130 megawatts by the end of 2018," the report said. 
"The ministry expects to rise to 2,400 megawatts by 2021, equivalent to 11 percent of the electricity generated in the kingdom compared to 1 percent in 2014," he said.
The report revealed that "the agreement between Jordan and Iraq to provide Iraq with electricity through electricity linkage, to be direct in technical studies and secure the necessary funding to start implementation of the project within three months, is expected to begin Jordan to export electricity to Iraq in less than two years.
